The Badger Bar, Rydal

The obvious place to go to eat is The Badger Bar which is opposite Rydal Lodge. It’s cosy and welcoming with friendly staff. With its traditional decor, open fireplaces, and wooden beams, the pub exudes a rustic charm that instantly puts guests at ease.

The pub offers classic pub fare and hearty British dishes such as fish and chips, steak and ale pie, burgers, sandwiches, and other comforting favourites.

For Food

Lucy’s on a Plate: Our personal favourite. A popular family-friendly eatery, Lucy’s on a Plate offers a diverse menu with a focus on locally sourced produce.

Zeffirellis: a good choice for those seeking delicious vegetarian and vegan options. Zeffirellis offers pizzas, pasta, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. You can buy a Movie Deal Ticket which includes a 2 course meal and reserved cinema ticket.

For Drinks

The Flying Fleece:

If there’s no check-ins our favourite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon is to sit outside The Flying Fleece with an Aperol Spritz. From 5pm to 7.30pm on Sundays there’s live music from Fiona (Music in the Lakes) who takes requests from the audience and not once has she been unable to sing the song asked for! Heaters and large umbrellas mean this is a thing whatever the weather.
