I’m thrilled by the amazing response to my Facebook post! Many of you have requested variations I hadn’t imagined, which is fantastic. However, I’ve had to make some adjustments to our accommodations since one provider decided to focus on being a retreat rather than hosting large groups.

I’ve also been working behind the scenes to include an option that doesn’t include accommodation. Here’s the updated plan:

  • Venue: We have reserved the Ambleside Parish Centre, which can host up to 100 dancers.
  • Accommodations: I’ve secured 5 cottages and Rydal Lodge, which together can house up to 54 people.
    • 5 rooms are available for single occupancy.
    • Freestyle & Food Tickets: 30 tickets are available for those who prefer to find their own accommodation.

To confirm your spot, please reserve your tickets by July 1st, using the booking form below. After this date, I’ll provide an update on the available accommodation and freestyle tickets.

    Base Camps

    We have two base camps:

    1. Rydal Base Camp: Located in the charming village of Rydal, offering limited accommodation. Rydal Lodge and Hart Head Barn, just 100 meters apart and 1.5 miles from the dance hall, will form this base camp. This option includes Bed & Breakfast.

    2. Bowness Base Camp: I’ve reserved three cottages in Bowness. These cottages are in secluded woodland above Bowness, close to each other, and just 5 miles from the dance hall. This base camp is self-catering.

    Rydal Water towards Grasmere

National Geographic approached me to feature Rydal in their series on the world’s eight most beautiful locations. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the authority to grant permission. Bring your camera and walking boots to enjoy more than 20 iconic walks starting from Rydal.

I took this photo 200 yrds from my garden. For more inspiration, please take a look at the Gallery, using the navigation bar above.  Most of the images were taken within 2 miles of Rydal Lodge.

Bowness-on-Windermere, the largest holiday town in the Lake District National Park, is nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere. The views from Bowness across the lake and up to the mountains are some of the most breathtaking in the Lake District.

    Food & Drinks

    • Friday & Saturday Dinners: Simple dinners will be available at the Ambleside Community Centre.
    • Saturday & Sunday Lunches: Lunches will be provided along with tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day.
    • The hall is licensed, so alcohol will be available.

    Booking Details

    To confirm your ticket:

    • Deposit: £75 for accommodation packages or £30 for Freestyle with food. The balance must be paid by August 1st. The deposit is non-refundable, but if you can’t make it after paying the balance, I’ll do my best to find a replacement and return the balance (excluding the deposit).
